The story of Pendleton Woolen Mills is one of opportunity, exploration and innovation. British weaver Thomas Kay laid the foundation when he arrived in Oregon in 1863. His expertise in clothing, tweed, flannel and wool, allowed him to develop the famous Pendleton wool. Kay's grandsons, three bishop brothers, opened Pendleton Woolen Mills in the early 1900s. They had the idea to use amazing designs inspired by Native Americans, and the Pendleton blanket was born. A unique reference for over 100 years. Pendlton has been family-owned for over six generations, the story of Pendleton Woolen Mills is unique and continues today.
