M-1943 Field Jackets
The Real Mccoy's
Standardized in 1943, the M-43 was designed to replace the M-41 model, which was deemed unsuitable for field conditions. More functional and durable, it was designed to meet the real needs of soldiers in the field, with a loose fit allowing for the addition of a lining and better protection against the elements.
The model presented follows specification 370E, the last official version of the M-43. It includes a removable hood and reflects improvements made throughout the conflict. The oversized version, marked "Model B," continued its use well after the war and had a lasting influence on the design of American military jackets.
